Why do we use sex over asexual reproduction

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-04-12] [Hit: ]
like bacteria. If we were asexual the bacteria would easily adapt to us and we would not stand a chance but now that we keep making new combinations of DNA never seen before we have the advantage of being one step ahead at all times.......
It takes longer to do sex so idk y we use it

because humans do not have the ability to reproduce asexually. We cannot exactly 'choose' to reproduce asexually.
There are advantages and disadvantages to sexual and asexual reproduction.
Bad thing about asexual reproduction is that every individual produced by a parent will have the same genetic material - everyone is identical genetically so if a disease comes along everybody will have the same strength of immunity and therefore everybody could be wiped out. Sexual reproduction is good for variation and natural selection/adaptation to environment.

It is how we have evolved through evolution and it has a very powerful effect, combination of genes. The combination of genes gives us an advantage over asexual beings, like bacteria. If we were asexual the bacteria would easily adapt to us and we would not stand a chance but now that we keep making new combinations of DNA never seen before we have the advantage of being one step ahead at all times.
