Anatomy question about colon

Dont feel silly asking this.Find a diagram online (the spelling of ileocaecal varies).-http://www.askdrsears.good luck!!......
I was trying to learn on my own about digestion and the colon, when I realized all the diagrams I was looking at show the colon as being essentially a tube with only one opening (at the anus). This seems strange to me, as this is where our digested food ends up before it leaves our bodies.

My question is, how and where does digested/digesting food enter the colon?

I feel silly having to ask this.

The digested material enters the colon at the ileocaecal sphincter, which is in the lower right abdomen.

Don't feel silly asking this. Find a diagram online (the spelling of "ileocaecal" varies).
