causing the pupil to constrict. The dilator muscle runs radially through the iris, like spokes on a wheel. This muscle dilates the eye in dim lighting.without the iris you would not have this functionalty and there fore would not be able to see-Well your retina is in the back of the eye and is the thing that picks up the light and the colors (known as rods and cones)Everything in between just bends the light towards the retina. So no you couldnt see because light needs to enter for you retina to come in.......
Would someone be able to see if their iris didn't have an opening(hole) in it? Please help, and explain why

The colored part of the eye is called the iris. It controls light levels inside the eye similar to the aperture on a camera.
The round opening in the center of the iris is called the pupil. The iris is embedded with tiny muscles that dilate (widen) and constrict (narrow) the pupil size.
The sphincter muscle lies around the very edge of the pupil. In bright light, the sphincter contracts, causing the pupil to constrict. The dilator muscle runs radially through the iris, like spokes on a wheel. This muscle dilates the eye in dim lighting.

without the iris you would not have this functionalty and there fore would not be able to see

Well your retina is in the back of the eye and is the thing that picks up the light and the colors (known as rods and cones) Everything in between just bends the light towards the retina. So no you couldn't see because light needs to enter for you retina to come in.
