It is the flower of the Ylang Ylang tree, Cananga odorata. Pronounced e-lang e-lang. The oil of the very fragrant flower is used in perfumes, and is sometimes (incorrectly) referred to as Myrrh although myrrh comes from an entirely different plant. It is tropical tree with a sprawling habit and strap-like leaves.
Fruit bats are attracted to the fruit. I would collect the seeds I used to propagate these trees by finding the tree where the fruit bats perched. The seeds would be on the ground beneath.

I am pretty sure are known a ylang ylang. They .ave a very strong scent and are used in perfumes
