Why is wood a good insulator of heat?HELP!!

Wood is a good insulator because like other good insulators, it has a high specific heat capacity. This means that it takes a relatively high amount of heat to make wood become hotter and transmit that heat to its surroundings.-Like metals, wood does not have as many free electrons that roam around ie.low electron mobility and hence heat conduction is poor.......
Why is wood a good insulator? I need a scientific explanation please

Wood is a good insulator because like other good insulators, it has a high specific heat capacity. This means that it takes a relatively high amount of heat to make wood become hotter and transmit that heat to its surroundings.
