Chemical reactions obey conservation of mass.-Mass decreases when metal reacts with acid. The reaction has an eating away effect at the metal. Im not sure of where the mass goes though.Either that, or option 3 due to the law of conservation of mass.......

mass of what? If all reaction products (including gases) are included, total mass is unchanged. Chemical reactions obey conservation of mass.

@gp4rts - My guess is that they're referring to solid mass.
