mass decreases when metal reacts with acid
mass is unchanged when metal reacts with acid

mass of what? If all reaction products (including gases) are included, total mass is unchanged. Chemical reactions obey conservation of mass.

Mass decreases when metal reacts with acid. The reaction has an eating away effect at the metal. I'm not sure of where the mass goes though.

Either that, or option 3 due to the law of conservation of mass. (Or whatever it is.)

@gp4rts - My guess is that they're referring to solid mass.
