or neutralization) involved.can a chemist or someone that knows how to do this explain the steps how you get the answer-A. Condensation. A condensation is defined as a coupling of two molecules with the loss of a small molecule. In this case, the two monosaccharides are coupled to form a disaccharide with the loss of a small molecule (water).......
For each of the fallowing, state the type of biochemical reaction (Redox,Condensation,hydrolysis, or neutralization) involved.

a) Glucose + galactose-->lactose+water
b)HCl+NaOH-->NaCl+H2O

i am reading over my notes and still don't understand how to work it out:(

can a chemist or someone that knows how to do this explain the steps how you get the answer

A. Condensation. A condensation is defined as a coupling of two molecules with the loss of a small molecule. In this case, the two monosaccharides are coupled to form a disaccharide with the loss of a small molecule (water). They are broken apart by hydrolysis (consumption of a water molecule).

B. Neutralization. No explanation is necessary.
