Would nitrogen gas catch fire due to electricity or a heated surface

-Nitrogen gas normally does not burn. To actually cause it to burn and form NO2 or N2O5 or something would be very difficult.......
I know that it would most likely catch fire due to a heated surface, but only a very high heat so I would need a material with high heat resistance, so I need to know if could use hydrogen in its gas form with an electrical spark to possibly use it as a propellant.

Nitrogen regularly "catches fire" as lightning passes through a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere. The products are nitrogen oxides.
