The nurse must reorder medications. Mrs. Tinley is ordered Neurontin (gabapentin) 25 mg po daily. She has difficulty swallowing pills, so the nurse ordered liquid form, which was supplied in a concentration of Neurontin (gabapentin) 10,000mcg/5ml. It is supplied in a 100ml bottle. If she had 5 doses, how many doses are left in the bottle? Round to the nearest whole dose.

10 000mcg concerts to 10 mg.So you have 10mg/5 ml.You need to give 25mg so you would give 12.5 ml.5 doses would be 62.5 ml. 100 - 62.5 = 37.5. 37.5 divided by 12.5 +=3. There would be three doses left.
