-The ionization of water is an endothermic process (heat is absorbed), and thus increasing the temperature would cause equilibrium to shift to the right (more ionization) to decrease the stress of the addition of heat. Thus as the temperature increases, so does the concentration of H+ and OH- ions. (In other words, the pH and pOH increases).......
The concentration of hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions when water ionizes at 25 degrees is 1.0 x 10^-7mol/L. What happens to the concentration as the temperature increases?
