Is there a way to attract plastic that is floating in the ocean, like some kind of magnet

As always the problem will be lack of funding. If the large areas of plastics are in areas very remote we might have to turn efforts to cleaning up in problem areas near shores and populated areas.-not that Ive ever heard of, and were talking about hundreds of miles of the crap, many feet deep. Even the boats that go to study it have trouble because their propellers get tangled up in the stuff.......
I am really concerned about all the small plastic particles in the ocean and want to help figure out a way we can get it out of the ocean as birds, fish, turtles and mammals are eating it and getting tangled in it and dying.

With the large areas of plastic found in the oceans it appears the oceans own circulation patterns are pretty good at collecting the junk. Perhaps we should use ships that can 'harvest' the plastic in those areas.

Plastic is not metal, thus no form of magnet will attract it. There's just no way to cleanly and safely remove all the plastic in the ocean.

-
Yes, whever you make plastic put metal dust on it, then use your magnets and collect all the plastic!

-
Plastic, how does it work?
