Ozone damages the breathing structures of every organism that encounters it.

Ozone inactivates red blood cells, marking them to be recycled / destroyed. Causes anemia.

Too many oxides to answer your question about oxides. Some are necessary (bones, fertilizer), some are annoying (sulfates... laxatives), and some are toxic / carcinogenic (asbestos for example... completely inert, but mechanically strong enough to tear through protective structures the body builds).
