Finding tha right light bulb

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-09-11] [Hit: ]
I bought some incandescent bulbs years ago that were labeled for 140 volts. They lasted many years before burning out. If you want to greatly extend the life of an incandescent bulb, just run it on a dimmer switch.-If this is for an industrial application, you may want to consider sodium vapor lamps.......
i am wanting a long lasting light blulb that is not white or blue just yellow like the older light bulbs but the ones that last like 7 to 11 yrs what kind are they ?

Light bulbs are classified by "color temperature".
For fluorescent and CFL, manufacturers rate the bulbs as follows:
Warm White : 2000-3000K
Soft White : 3000-3500K
Cool White : 3500-4500K
Daylight (DX) : 6500K
The "K" stands for the temperature in degrees Kelvin which would produce the same color.
Warm white at 2000-3000K is the flame color of a wood fire.
You can purchase long life CFLs and LEDs with your choice of color temperature.

I think you're looking for a bug light. These were supposed to repel night flying bugs. I haven't seen one in years. I bought some incandescent bulbs years ago that were labeled for 140 volts. If this is for an industrial application, you may want to consider sodium vapor lamps.
