However in a broader sense Europe as a cultural area encompasses the islands associated with it including Iceland, Malta and the British Isles and leaving the EU, once again, will not change Britains participation in this cultural sphere. European Union has never equalled European so whether or not one considers the UK to be part of Europe doesnt have much to do with its EU membership.-Trevor say: Every country that is located within the European continent is considered EUROPEAN regardless of its membership in EU.......
Actually Britain is an island off the continent of Europe.

Edward The Elucidator say: It will still be considered part of the European continent. The only difference will be that it will no longer be part of the European Union.
-
Billy Bowlegs say: UK is considered to be part of Europe.
-
Bob say: I have never considered myself to be European so leaving the EU will change nothing, that is if we leave. The politicians are dragging their feet and Junker is talking of change in Europe, so we might yet see another referendum when the changes are implemented. I am English and voted for out, mainly because I do not think open borders are a good thing, especially in this terrorist age.

Stephen B say: It depends upon your definition of Europe. In one sense the British Isles (including the UK and Ireland) have always been considered separate from Europe precisely because they are islands and not part of the continent. In comparison countries like Norway, Switzerland and Ukraine are part of continental Europe but not members of the EU. However in a broader sense 'Europe' as a cultural area encompasses the islands associated with it including Iceland, Malta and the British Isles and leaving the EU, once again, will not change Britain's participation in this cultural sphere. 'European Union' has never equalled 'European' so whether or not one considers the UK to be part of Europe doesn't have much to do with its EU membership.

Trevor say: Every country that is located within the European continent is considered EUROPEAN regardless of its membership in EU.
-
Lawrence say: The UK has never been part of European. Europe is the continent. The Britons are apart from the Europeans and better off for it.
-
Verulam 2 say: The UK has NEVER been considered 'European'. So leaving what originally was a Trade Agreement with Europe won't change anything re what we in the UK are considered!!
-
Justin say: What do you mean "IF" They are indeed leaving.
-
Fran UK Man say: Many of us have never considered ourselves to be European even when a member of the EU. I resent their intrusion in our lives.
-
say: I never considered the Brits to be European to begin with. Too unrefined.
-
dark say: No, still on THE continent of europe
