What is a vertice? (Mathematics)

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-05] [Hit: ]
.Vertice=intersecting points-Vertices are the lines that surround a surface and enclose them.Some common geometric figures have specific names for their vertices.for example a right triangle, which is the one with a 90° angle, has the most famous vertices and are the legs wich are two and sometimes they are called opposite leg and adyacent leg and there is the hypotenuse wich is always the opposite side from the right angle and is always the longest of the three.......
I have to classify the names of some polygons, but i get all that.
But it says to also "Name its vertices." and it doesn't give me an explanation.

A vertices of a polygon is where to lines meet to form a point. For example, a square would have 4 vertices, a triangle 3, etc...

If it has ABCDE as intesecting points then the vertices would be the same thing--> ABCDE

Vertice=intersecting points

Maybe that is what you have to do with the other figures too, look for them in the internet, i'm sure they are somewhere in there.

A vertex of a polygon is where two sides (segments) meet...

Draw a triangle...a triangle is a polygon. the "pointy" parts are the vertices.

Don't you have a textbook ? You have the internet !

Discovery is better than you think !

-
Singular is vertex
Plural is vertices.

I read a vertex as an angle

-
A point of a polygon at which edges intersect.
