For 4 days, the temperatures in Alaska at 9:00a.m were 12, -2, -6, and 8, 4, respectively. What was the average temperature?

Do I add all the numbers and then divide them by 5 or 4? How can I solve this? Thank you!

Yes that IS confusing! Looks like a typo or a sloppy Q.

I would go with a sum and a division by 5 since you were given 5 temperatures as data.

Hope this helps! Cheers! :)
