Math help.. It's so simple but I can't get the answer!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-29] [Hit: ]
........
1/y+3 - 1/y divided by 1/y

And

x+y/2x-y - 2x/y-2x

Help please ):

-
Presentation of both questions is incorrect due to lack of brackets.
However will have a guess at what may be meant :-

Qu 1

1 / ( y + 3 ) - 1 / y
---------------------------
1/y

y - ( y + 3 )
---------------
y + 3

- 3
--------
y + 3

Qu 2

( x + y ) / (2x - y) + 2x / (2x - y)

x + y + 2x
---------------------
2x - y

3x + y
------------
2x - y

-
Pleased to help---thank you.

Please use parentheses.
I assume that you mean:

Problem 1)
.. ( 1/(y+3) - 1/y ) ÷ (1/y)
= ( 1/(y+3) - 1/y ) * (y)
= y/(y+3) - 1
= ( y - (y+3) ) / (y+3)
= ( y - y - 3 ) / (y+3)
= - 3 / (y+3)

Problem 2)
.. (x+y)/(2x-y) - 2x/(y-2x)
= (x+y)/(2x-y) + 2x/(2x-y)
= ( (x+y) + 2x ) / (2x-y)
= ( x + y + 2x ) / (2x-y)
= (3x + y) / (2x - y)
