I have this problem l x+5 l > 12

And I don't know if I'm suppose to get 2 answers or just one answer and if i get 2 answers do I flip the > sign on one of them. I got these answers so far

x>7. And x<-17

What am I doing wrong or is this right?

Thank you so much in advanced I need this as a guide

-
l x+5 l > 12

you do it twice once by negative and once by positive
so...

x+5>12 and x+5<-12

then solve it regularly
= x>7 and = x<-17

Your answers are right.

The answer is "x is greater than 7".

For at all times when ' x ' is equal to or less than 7, eg.(1,2.3.4.5.6.7). the equation is no longer true/valid.

So therefore ' x ' would have to be more than 7 for the statement to be true.

Good luck!
