-this is incorrect because you added 3 to both sides from the beginning while you were supposed to divide both side by 3..(2x-5)/(-3) = sqrt(17-4x)...try solving from here,......
I am trying to find x because I am trying to find the point of intersection between these two functions. I know that to find the x they are set this way but I am having trouble with how to start. This is what I have figured, plz let me know if this is correct.
2x-5=-3sqrt(17-4x)

2x-5=-3sqrt(17-4x)
2x-2=sqrt(17-4x)
2x-2=289-16x^2
16x^2+2x-2=289
16x^2+2x-291+=0
quadratic formula= x=4.2, x=-4.3

i think I did this way wrong, I dont think I'm suppose to have 2 x values.

(2x-5)/(-3) = sqrt(17-4x)...try solving from here,

[(2x-5)/(-3)]^2 = 17-4x try from here now

(4x^2/9) - (20x/9) + (25/9) = 153/9 - (36x/9)

4x^2 + 16x -128
