each figure is a regular polygon. find the value of X (the figure is a square)
one side is:
X^2 + X

the other side is:
X^2 + 4

With a square, we know that all sides are equal.

X^2 + X = X^2 + 4

Subtract X^2 from both sides

X = 4

So we know that x = 4

X^2 = 4^2 = 16

16 + 4 = 20

All four sides are 20.

The area is 20*20 = 400

The perimeter is 4 * 20 = 80
