Need help with algebra again

5y- 3x + 2y + 8x
7y + 5x is the answer

could you please explain to me how to do this? :/

5y- 3x + 2y + 8x=......

5y + 2y = 7y, so -3x +8x = 5x.

You work in the order from left to right. Hope that helps! ^w^

First take the y's
= 5y + 2y
Leave the variable y
=> 5 + 2 = 7
So, 5y + 2y = 7y
Now, take the x's
=> -3x+8x
Leave the x
=> -3+8 or 8 - 3 = 5
Now, 8x - 3x = 5x
Summing the results
Answer is 7y + 5x

5y-3x+2y+8x

we can collect the like term here we collect the term of x and y

=5y+2y-3x+8x

=7y+5x

we have added 5y+2y and got 7y similarly we can add -3x and 8x we got 5x
