Is the answer 5+-3i√2 correct? And if not can someone tell me what I did wrong please?

Well, I've got only as far as realising that the roots are complex, so I expect you're correct.
v² - 30v = -243
v² - 30v + 225 = -18
(v - 15)² = - 18
v - 15 = ±3i√2
v = 15 ± 3i√2

I guess you just made a typo, leaving out the 1 in "15"
