Solve this simultaneous equation

A bow and arrow cost £29. the bow costs £26 more than the arrow.
make 2 equations and solve them to find the cost of a bow and arrow.

equation 1 : total cost = b + a = 29
equation 2 : difference = b - a = 26
add the two eqns , to get
=> 2b = 55
=> b = 55/2 = 27.5

a bow costs £ = 27.5
an arrow costs £ = 29 - 27.5 = 1.5
