1) V = L*W*H
..........5yd * 2yd * 8in................change all to FEET
..........5*3 ft * 2*3 ft * 8*(1/12)ft
..........15ft * 6ft * (2/3)ft
V = 60 ft^3

ANSWER 60 bags

2) C = 2(pi)r
....28.5 = 2(pi)r

r = 28.5/(2pi)
r = 4.535915878 ~ ~

edge of box = 2r = 9.071831756 in

V = (2r)^3

ANSWER....V = 746.59 in^3

3) SA = pi(r^2)h + 2(pi)r^2........r=2h....OR.....h=0.5r
339 = pi(r^2)(0.5r) + 2(pi)r^2

(,5*pi)r^3 + (2*pi)r^2 - 339 = 0

r = 4.919 cm

1.)

5 yards = 5*3 = 15 feet
2 yards = 2*3 =6 feet
8 inches = 8 *0.08333 = 0.666 ft
Volume: 15*6*0.666 = 59.994 cubic feet
===> 60 bags of 1 cubic feet each

2.
pi*d = 28.5 ==> d = 9.071
V = 9.071^3 = 747 cubic inches

3.
2pi*r^2 + 2pi*r *h = 339
r = 2h ==> h = r/2

2pi*r^2 + 2*pi*r * r/2 = 339

3pi r^2 = 339

r = sqrt(339/3) = 10.63 = 11 cm
