to anyone else who cant figure it out (not accusing, just saying, because the question is a bit weirdly worded) each of the kids gives each other kid a handshake when giving them a gift.-I think number of children in the group is 7. If I am not wrong.-What the hell do gifts have to do with handshakes?......

Please provide me with some explanation

Each child gives a gift to the others
=> n (n - 1) = 132
=> 12 x 11 = 132
=> n = 12.

There are 12 children. If each of the 12 kids gives gifts to the 11 others, then the answer would be 12x11, 132. Also, to anyone else who can't figure it out (not accusing, just saying, because the question is a bit weirdly worded) each of the kids gives each other kid a handshake when giving them a gift.
