Can you please solve this (find the value of x). Please show working too. There is meant to be a dividing line (division) between the two (x-1/3 , x-1/2) but i couldn't do the line on the computer. Please show each step. Thanks so much in advance :) BTW: THE 2 IS MEANT TO BE UNDER THE SECOND x-1 but it won't let me type it that way.

x-1 - x-1 =6
3 2

Or another less confusing way of typing it:

(x-1)/3 - (x-1)/2 = 6

-
(x-1)/3 - (x-1)/2 = 6

Multiply both sides by the denominators ( 2 * 3 = 6)

>> 2 * 3 *(x-1)/3 - 2 * 3 *(x-1)/2 = 6 * 2 * 3

>> 2(x - 1) - 3(x-1) = 36

>> 2x - 2 - 3x + 3 = 36

>> -x + 1 = 36

>> - x = 36

x = - 35
