Can someone do this in 15 MINUTES !!!

Bookman Company has three operating departments: Department A, Department B and Department C. Administrative costs are allocated to operating departments based on the number of workers and maintenance costs are allocated to operating departments based on square footage occupied.

Dpt A has 3,520 employees
Dpt B has 5,280 employees
Dpt C has 8.800 employees

Total - 17,600

Assume that Bookman allocated $14,200 administrative costs to Department A. Based on the above data, determine the company's total administrative costs.

OK HOW DO I DO THIS? I HAVE TRIED *NUMEROUS* tries and I am confused because I only have administrative for Dept A? Are they all supposed to be the same or what?

If the administrative costs are based on the number of people in the department, then I think that it is as simple as taking the total amount of administrative costs for Department A ($14,200) and dividing that by the number of employees (3520). This gives us: $4.034090909090 spent per employee, and, if the amount is the same through all departments (which it appears to be), then all we have to do is multiply that number by the total number of employees (17600).

The number we get when we multiply $4.034090909090 by 17600 is $71,000.
