I know how to find the average value of a function, but cant get this one. Please help.If you look at all the other graphs, they all have equal amount of area above and below the x-axis, which means their total area would be 0.......

Assuming you meant page 26 number 21

The area above the x-axis is going to be a positive number
The area under the x-axis is going to be a negative number

If you look at all the other graphs, they all have equal amount of area above and below the x-axis, which means their total area would be 0.

graph E is that exception, because both area's in graph E area above the x-axis

OK. If you look at a thru d you can pretty easily see that the negative areas cancel the positive areas. This is NOT the case with E. You have two large negative areas and two small positive areas...so the average would be non-zero.
