Does an axon conduct action potentials

.-Yes the action potential travels along the axon, have a look on you tube there are some great videos that explain it.-Well electrical signal is passed through the axon to the cell body of the neuron. In the cell body it is then converted into chemical signals and when it is leaving the cell body it converts back to electrical signals. The changes in cellular proteins that converts extra-cellular chemical signal to a to a specific intracellular response is called signal transduction.......
If not, what does?
Biology confuses me..
