and I would not want to ruin the fun for you by giving away the answer! I know that you can do this (I hope).......
Write a simple polynomial function with 0's: –2, 4, and -1/3

-
The zeroes or roots of the polynomial function are to be -2, 4, and -1/3.
You can get the answer by multiplying three linear terms: (x+2) (x-4) (x + 1/3).
These terms are found by writing (x-z) where z is one of the zeroes or roots.
The answer will be made more simple if the last term is multiplied by 3, and this will not change the zeroes of the function, so it can be written (x+2) (x-4) (3x+1).
The standard way to express this polynomial function is in the standard form ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d.
To find the standard form for this, multiply out the three linear terms using complicated rules of multiplying polynomials. That is the fun part, and I would not want to ruin the fun for you by giving away the answer! I know that you can do this (I hope).
