-5) U (-5, 5 ) U (5,2. f(x) = √(25x + 4) . . .......
a. f(x)=7x+1/x^2-25

b. f(x)= square root of 25x+4

Please explain how you get your answer. Thank you.

-
a. f(x)=7x+1/x^2-25
the domain of the function are the values that makes the function sense . . .
f(x) = (7x+1) / (x^2 - 25), you will notice that wh en x = -5 or 5, the function turns to undefined, so
all real number will be the value of x except -5 and 5 . .

so,

domain therefore is x < -5, -5 < x < 5, x > 5

in interval notation (- ∞, -5) U (-5, 5 ) U (5, ∞ )

2. f(x) = √(25x + 4) . . .since the function involved square root sign, then terms insides the symbol should not be negative . . .

so, x is any positive integers including zero, where this case, the f(x) is real numbers . . .

now, domain is x ≥ 0

in interval notation: [ 0, ∞ )
