How many digital multimeter fuses have you blown

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-07-06] [Hit: ]
..again..........
I just blew the second one after about three years. It was the backup one inside the case. So I ordered ten of them since it won't work without it. I am sitting here and cannot make any measurements until they come in. What a hassle.....

I put a buck-twenty AC across the leads in ohms mode.......again......

Welcome to the world under human wisdom Hal. It doesn't seem to be it's is that we make life harder than it really is,not only because of the hassles but from all the worrying we do just to try to pay bills and eat. Who's ever idea it was to make money so important should be shot,or better yet put into the lake of fire,we should all know who that is-Satan himself,he has everyone serving him and his idol money. Hang in there my friend it's about to get a lot better," Look he is coming on the clouds! Everyone will see him."
Love John

Just use the old fuse to put a strip of aluminum foil between the fuse mounting clips. Or solder a bit of patch wire to connect the contact ends of the fuse itself and re-insert. There's no protection for you meter when you do this, so the next screwup will probably blow the meter, but you can continue working. Now, you can either "check twice, measure once" or add a backup DMM to your order. :^)
