Sets and set operations

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-11-12] [Hit: ]
R is the set of these n, so R = {1/2,1,3/2,......
R = {n | n = k/2, k ∈ Z, 1 ≤ k ≤ 4}

can someone explain the above why is the elements for the set for the above {1/2, 1, 3/2, 2}? need to know for an exam.

If k is an integer between 1 and 4 inclusive then k = 1,2,3 or 4.

If n = k/2 where k is an integer between 1 and 4 inclusive, then n = 1/2, 2/2, 3/2, 4/2
So n = 1/2, 1, 3/2, 2.

Here, R is the set of these n, so R = {1/2,1,3/2,2}
