If y varies directly as x and y=2 when x=10, find y when x=5

The answer is supposed to come out y = 1 but that's not what I'm getting at all so if you could list the steps I would be so grateful!

1)... find k
y = kx

k = y/x

k = 2/10

k = 0.2

2) x = 0.2 ( 5)

x = 1

y = kx
2 = k(10)
k = 1/5
When x = 5,
y = 1/5(5) = 1

y=kx
2 = 10k
k = 1/5
y = x/5
y = 5/5 = 1
