The urinalysis (UA) will test for some of the same metabolic parameters as the other tests you took; for example, elevated glucose in your blood would show up on your complete metabolic panel (CMP) and glucose can also be detected in urine. Both could be a sign of diabetes. However the UA will also test for certain conditions that are specific to your genitourinary system, that these blood tests might not detect. For example if you had a urinary tract infection there might be bacteria, white blood cells, nitrite and other signs in your urine.
