I'm 17, a senior in high school, and preparing for college. I've been researching different career paths, and have narrowed my search down mainly to Pre-Pharmacy followed by Pharmacy School in hopes of obtaining my Pharm.D.
I was wondering what type of lifestyle and amount of income one would expect as a pharmacist. My family and I are used to living a comfortable lifestyle @ 80-90k/yr. I would like to be comfortable in my later years and have enough means to support a small family. So, if there are any pharmacists out there, could you please tell me what lifestyle the pharmacy career affords?

You will definitely be able to have the lifestyle you are used to. You will more than likely exceed that income. Whenever you decide on schools, check the percentages of graduates who already have jobs set for them by the time they graduate. I know that for some schools that percentage is in the 90's. Not sure about the retirement. You should be able to save a lot before you retire, so I'm sure you will be very comfortable later in life. I'm not a pharmacist... I'm actually a senior in high school, too. I participated in a summer program for high school students interested in the medical field and learned all of this from the program. Good luck!!
