Does a bowling ball's velocity go faster or slower when thrown

Will the bowling balls speed be fastest the moment you bowl the bowling ball? Or will its fastest speed be a second or two later? Will the bowling ball slow down during its journey to the bowling pins?Personally, I think that a bowling balls velocity increases slightly when thrown, but then slowly slows down as it continues rolling down the alley.......
For example, say you bowl a bowling ball. Will the bowling ball's speed be fastest the moment you bowl the bowling ball? Or will its fastest speed be a second or two later? Will the bowling ball slow down during its journey to the bowling pins?

Personally, I think that a bowling ball's velocity increases slightly when thrown, but then slowly slows down as it continues rolling down the alley. What do you guys think?

Question: What is a bowling ball's speed throughout the time it takes to roll across the bowling alley?

ie. Is it fastest -> slower -> slowest? Is it fast -> faster -> fastest? Fast -> faster -> fastest -> slower -> slowest?

Unfortunately, your instinct is wrong.

The moment the ball leaves your hand, it starts slowing down. This is because there is no longer a force pushing it forwards. However, there is air-drag and friction slowing it down.

Fastest (just before leaving your hands) > slower > slowest.

Initial velocity will be the greatest the moment it is thrown. As time continues, gravity and friction will work on the bowling ball to slow down, so, "fastest -> slower -> slowest."

The moment the ball starts rolling is the fastest speed it will have, by then all the potential energy will be converted to kinetic which will be lost to friction once it starts rolling
