Can a spinning object be used to change the polarity of a magnet

If the spinning object has a strong enough magnetic field and rotates fast enough it can demagnetize a magnet. If the spinning magnetic object stops at the correct moment it may reverse the polarity of the magnet.

I fail to see any practical application.
