How does Ozone accumulate on the surface of Plasma Globes

How/why does this happen/work?

Electrons from plasma globes get pushed high enough in kinetic energy, that they displace other electrons out of the glass envelope. Any impressed voltage over about 3 volts, will ionize oxygen and nitrogen. Ozone can be formed from these ions, "people grease" or perfumes, and the visible light made in the globe.
