Physics help with net torque

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-11-20] [Hit: ]
I = moment of inertia of solid wheel = 1/2mR² = (0.5)(1)(1)² = 0.Torque = (0.5)(5) = 2.......
what is the net torque on a solid wheel with a mass of 1 kg and a diameter of 1m if it has an angular acceleration of 5.0 ras/s^2. please have some type of explination too please :)

-
The other answer is correct except, the radius is 0.5m and not 1m.
So the final answer should be 0.625N-m.

Torque = Iα
I = moment of inertia of solid wheel = 1/2mR² = (0.5)(1)(1)² = 0.5 kgm²
α = 5 rad/s²
Torque = (0.5)(5) = 2.5 m-N ANS
comment: with no other values given it must be assumed that this Torque is the Net Torque
