what is bigger a kg or meter?

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 17-05-10] [Hit: ]
5kg., a multimeter maybe 0.2kg. So unless you specify, no answer can be given.......
what is bigger a kg or meter?

-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
John say: A kg, kilogram, is a unit of weight; a meter is a unit of distance. The units do not measure the same thing, so any comparison is impossible.
-
Tom say: Neither, the answer is a Liter.
-
Jim Moor say: Definitely the kg is 'bigger' as it has volume.

A meter is a line, so it is only 2-dimensional and has no volume.
-
Tom S say: kg (kilograms) is a unit of measurement for mass (not weight) ; meter is a unit for measuring linear distance. These are different and unrelated physical parameters.
-
Art say: One degree Celsius.
-
say: What sort of meter? I mean, a gas meter might have a mass of 20kg., an electricity meter maybe .5kg., a multimeter maybe 0.2kg.
So unless you specify, no answer can be given.
In the metric system in English language, a kg. is mass, and a METRE is length. A totally different "kettle of fish".
-
say: One measures weight and the other measure is Length.
1000grams or 1000millimeters
Kilo means 1 thousand. Milli means 1000
So same.
-
S say: kg stands for kilogram which measures weight or mass, while a meter measures distance/length. Since the two measure different things, you can't really compare them. The word "kilo" means 1,000 so a kilogram is 1,000 grams. Kilograms can be used to measure the weight/mass of objects such as a watermelon while a meter can be used to measure the distance/length of say a football field.
-
WRATHFULBuddhaBॐlly say: those are 2 different metrics...how can juu compare measurement to weight!?!?
-
oldprof say: When you answer, which is bigger your height or your weight, I'll answer your question. You need to study what a kilogram and a meter measure. You are asking us to compare apples to oranges.
-
Grinning Football plinny younger say: A kilogram is a unit of weight a meter a length. A kilogram of gold would be smaller than a meter, a kilogram of feathers longer.
-
Lark say: One is for weight while the other for distance. I dont even understand what you are trying to point out
-
holt say: a meter is a tool with which a measurement can be taken/registered... A kg is a measurement of weight... really they are not alike and can not be compared as to which is bigger..
-
Bob say: You are comparing Apples and Oranges!
-
Mallory say: Like doing: " .. the Kessell run in 5 parsecs".. Two different measurements (time vs. length)

One is mass, one is length. Neither is necessary bigger than another. without at least units..
-
Charlesetta say: Those are not comparable units of measure. One is weight and the other is length.
-
say: A kg obviously. Because 'k' means 1000 (kilo). Duh.

EDIT
I have received 3 thumbs down. Can't you people recognise irony/humour?
