No, the world is not going to end this May 21 2011 nor is it going to end in 2012. Although, to be technical, at some point in time in the far far future, the Sun, which is a star, will eventually become a white dwarf/black hole. It will consume all the planets as it dies out. But this activity could be trillions of years from now.
