I want friendly spider pets

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-30] [Hit: ]
In the pet store the prices can be inflated. There is also the risk that if you buy an adult it is wild caught as opposed to captive bred by a reputable dealer.Look online, there are dealers who will ship to you, and the babies cost very little money. If the spider is a confirmed female the pet store will definitely charge you more,......
Which species are friendly and docile? I want a tarantula btw, with little or no venom.

All tarantulas have venom and all have the capacity to bite you if they're scared but only as a last resort. It will display other signs to let you know it's scared: it will flick urticating hairs from its abdomen at you or it will raise its abdominal cavity and/or front legs. These defense postures serve as a warning to back off.
As for calmer species I recommend a terrestrial (land-dwelling, lives in a flat habitat):
Eupalastrus Campestratus - Pink Zebra Beauty (very calm with banded knees)
Grammostola Pulchripes - Chaco Golden Knee (very calm brown with golden knees)
Grammostola Pulchra - Brazilian Black (very calm totally black and soft)
Brachypelma Smithi - Mexican Red Knee (speedy as youngster but non-defensive, pretty)
Brachypelma Albopilosum - Curly Hair (very calm, brown with curly fuzzy hairs)
Brachypelma Vagans - Mexican Red Rump (looks like Pulchra but has red abdomen)
Grammostola Rosea - Chilean Rose Hair (most common and least expensive)

Tarantulas are less expensive if you buy them as youngsters. In the pet store the prices can be inflated. There is also the risk that if you buy an adult it is wild caught as opposed to captive bred by a reputable dealer. Look online, there are dealers who will ship to you, and the babies cost very little money. If the spider is a confirmed female the pet store will definitely charge you more, since females outlive males and I know of females that have lived over 20 years.
If you have any further questions, feel free to email me anytime.

I had a big bug book when i was little, and it said something about a mexican one...the only downside was it's skin irritating hairs that it would shoot off when it got threatened. otherwise i don't remember it being venomous. you should do some research on it and see if it's what you want.

Just about everyone who owns a spider as a pet owns a tarantula or a wolf spider. They have little to no venom, however their bites are a bit painful.

Many pet stores sell nice, friendly tarantulas which are not going to cause any trouble. They grow to a good size and i've heard they often make good pets.
