Can a frog drown. my dog keeos chasin the frogs in our pool and they can't come out. Can they drown

it usually does in a different place then when it first entered the pool.Unless it is trapped in something like a bucket of water, giving it no chance to take in enough air before having to dive again, your dog probably does not have the patience to keep waiting for it to come up. When it comes up to the surface, it can float there with just the nostrils exposed and breathe in enough air and dive again.......
Your dog's a douche.

Yes, it can drown. A frog may hide underwater for a few minutes if it is escaping an enemy, but it needs to come up for air eventually. When it comes up, it usually does in a different place then when it first entered the pool. Unless it is trapped in something like a bucket of water, giving it no chance to take in enough air before having to dive again, your dog probably does not have the patience to keep waiting for it to come up. When it comes up to the surface, it can float there with just the nostrils exposed and breathe in enough air and dive again. Therefore even though it can drown, it is unlikely to drown unless your dog is really persistent and determined, and unless the frog is trapped in a very small pool and cannot come up to the surface undetected.

Though they can swim well, once a frog or toad that has ended up in a swimming pool it can't get out of and there's nothing for it to climb on, it will become exhausted and drown. The chlorine doesn't make it any easier. When I lived with my parents in Florida, I was always scooping out live, dead, or near dead frogs and toads from our pool. Tree frogs, toads, water frogs, everything that lived in our area.

Add: I guess someone thinks that they can survive indefinitely in swimming pools. Has anyone actually seen a frog or a toad jump straight out of the water onto land? Not. Unless one can leap from a floating object or from the top step, it is doomed unless someone scoops it out.

Yes, frogs can drown. When frogs are tadpoles, they have gills, but then with age they develop lungs instead. Full grown frogs do not have gills. Maybe you should teach the dog to not do that :/

No they were born in water. (Tad poles) They breath through their skin.
