Isn't it a little farfetched to believe that there is life on other planets

No. In fact, it is a little short-fetched to believe that there is life on other planets. Lets look at the probability shall we? There are billions, maybe even trillions, of stars in our own galaxy, the Milky Way. Now that's one galaxy by itself. There are billions, maybe even trillions,of galaxies in known universe. And it is a proven fact that the majority of stars have planets revolving around them. Now considering that only .01% of planets have the suitable temperature; .01% have liquid water; .01% have the perfect conditions for life, it is still obvious that it doesn't change the verdict - there is a high probability that there is life out there. Now in reality, the odds of all those factors are more than .01%. It has been scientifically proven that the ingredients of life are present in nature by "accident". Hell, there might be life in our own solar system. Since you didn't specify life, I'll consider simple organisms (bacteria etc.). As you might have heard, Europa, Jupiter's moon, is a hot spot for astronomers like me. There is a lot of evidence suggesting that it may hold water, and thus life. That right there proves your claim incorrect. Moreover, your assuming that just because it hasn't been found, there is no life out there. Does that mean that just because we don't see the air, there is no air? Yes I agree that we haven't found evidence of life, yet. That's because we haven't even set foot out side our own solar system. So the bottom line is, to think that there is no life out there is a very narrow-minded idea. And addressing your question about God, there are no conflicting relationships between aliens and God. I myself believe that science and religion are inter- twined. So the bottom line is, there is life out there. Its just a pain in the *** to find it because its one hell of a big universe.

I think it's naive to assume that there are no other life forms. There's near infinite space out there, with ever-altering galaxies and planets. Anything even half-close to Earth could display life forms. Perhaps not life forms capable of thought, but plants or germs. They could then evolve. There's actually a LOT of human faeces floating in space, left by astro/cosmonauts, so the germs in that could evolve on a planet far away...
