How might the pattern...

in order to keep the top pointed at the sun (to maximize the gathering of sun rays). Many animals use the position of the Sun in finding their way around (e.g., ducks, during migration).......
How might the patterns of plants and animals change if the sun were not visible to them?

At what phase of the moon will tides be the highest. Explain.

Depends. Some plants do need direct sunlight (and its UV photons) to get enough energy to drive photosynthesis. Some plants have long molecules that grow on the shady side of the stem and shorter molecules on the sunny side, in order to keep the top pointed at the sun (to maximize the gathering of sun rays). Many animals use the position of the Sun in finding their way around (e.g., ducks, during migration).

Highest tides at New Moon and Full Moon:
we have two sources of tides: Moon and Sun. When they are in phase, they add up, when they are out of phase (First Quarter and Last Quarter Moon phases) they cancel out - the Lunar tide does win as it is stronger than the tide caused by the Sun.

New Moon and Full Moon tides are called Spring tides (because the water "springs" higher) while the First Quarter and Last Quarter tides are called Neap Tides.

if the sun is not visible to plants, they die.... if they die, animals have nothing to eat but each other, and some don't eat meat, so they die too...... what's left will have to eat each other..... and you..........

phases of the moon have no bearing on the height of tides other than when the sun and moon line up ..........like they said ^.....

1. Dunno.

2. New Moon and Full Moon have the highest tides because the Moon is in line with the Sun. Their gravity will work together to cause higher tide ranges.
