good Lord. This is the kind of question that could get people killed. But, if anything existed before the Universe, it would be something outside the realm of human understanding. If it can be known,......

I look forward to answers from both sides, please don't bash each other over who is right and wrong, i just want you to answer based on your OWN beliefs and nothing else, if you believe is science then answer that way, if you belive in god answer that way . . .

Oh, good Lord. This is the kind of question that could get people killed.

But, if anything "existed" before the Universe, it would be something outside the realm of human understanding. If it can be known, we will never know it, because I don't think our minds could handle the answer.

And, then again, it could be something really simple, like there was another Universe that was created from yet another Universe. Kinda like stars: One star dies, a new one is formed. Which, when I thought about this when I was twelve, made me quite afraid: What happens if another outcome is possible?

Now, to the religious side of things, God, should one exist, probably did exist before our Universe. Think of it this way: What if God was infinite, and knew all things, because his mind is essentially the combination of all possible Universes? He could know everything, because in a very real sense, he IS everything.

In such a case, this being was not created, but merely came to be of pure willpower. "I think, therefore I am," in a very literal sense. But then, that is assuming Time exists beyond our Universe, and that outside it, there is not just one large clump of one-dimensional white. And in this case, "He is, was and ever shall be," is only a stretch in trying to analog something we cannot know of.

According to Einsteins theories, Time began at the beginning of the Universe. If that is the case, then there is no such thing as "before the beginning of the Universe."
