It's so strange..

Dust on the camera lens, I have photos like that taken at night.
Because of the magnification of the lenses even a very small spec of dust that you cannot see can appear as a large disk once the picture or video is processed.
The other way this can happen is if you take a picture of a light source through a window you can actually get a number of reflected images in the final picture that you could not see when taking the picture.
Sometimes these things can look really cool, other times they can ruin what you thought would be a very good picture, I have taken pictures at night only to look at them later and see a huge dust blob where someone's head should be.
