Why is the moon not in the sky the last two nights

You weren't out late enough at night or early enough in the morning. Last quarter was March 14 and new moon will be March 22. During this time moonrise is later and later after midnight. It will be up in the morning sky. It should be visible during the day, but drowned out by sunlight if the sky is not very clear.

The Moon is rising after you went to bed, around 4 am this morning. That's why you haven't seen the Moon for the last two nights. If you are a night owl, or very early morning lark, you could have seen the Moon before sunrise

Yesterday, March 15, the Moon was Last Quarter.

At Last Quarter, the Moon rises at midnight, is due south at dawn, and sets at noon.

It's rising and setting changes every day, it usually rises later in the day each time.
