"Write a slope-intercept form equation for the line through the given points.
(8,10) and (14,13)"
I don't really understand how to do it, please help?

First find the slope.
m = (10 - 13)/(8 - 14) = -3/-6 = 1/2
Now use y = mx + b, m= 1/2, (8, 10) = (x, y)
10 = (1/2)(8) + b
10 = 4 + b
6 = b
y = (x/2) + 6

slope-intercept form equation
y = mx + b

first, find the slope, m
m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = (13 - 10) / (14 - 8) = 3/6 = 1/2

y = (1/2)x + b

next, find the y-intercept. just substitute one of the points into the equation
y = (1/2)x + b
10 = (1/2)(8) + b
10 = 4 + b
b = 6

y = (1/2)x + 6
